Skakun Reporting Resolution Defeated PDF Print E-mail

A resolution by Councillor Brian Skakun to increase financial reporting by the City has been defeated. Councillor Skakun sought to have all the City transactions presented publicly every month, much as they do in Quesnel. The resolution went to the Finance and Audit Committee. That Committee found the City's current reporting policies to be sufficient. Currently the City publishes its financial transactions annually and any major expenditures are reported monthly. Plus the Committee found it would require between 60 and 90 hours of staff time annually to achieve monthly reporting.
