PG Shelter Workers Join BCGEU |

Staff of the Active Support Against Poverty Housing Society are joining the B.C Government and Service Employees Union. The 22 employees voted unanimously to join the union to make their workplace better. Many of the shelter's homeless clients deal with drug addicitons and acute mental illness. BCGEU President Darryl Walker says the shelter workers often face threats and voilence on the job, and are urgently in need of better health and safety protection.
