NDP leader Carole James is meeting with local community leaders throughout the day, launching the Rural Consultation Tour. She says the province needs to push the federal government to extend not only EI Benefits for forestry workers, but also need to push the feds on the Work Share program. James says the provincial Liberals have ignored the crisis in forestry way too long. Meanwhile, Forests Minister Pat Bell says James isn't citing facts. Bell says the province has been working very closely with the federal government to secure some help for forestry.
