It's a big weekend for baseball teams in the area. At Citizen Field, the IDL Knights continued to roll along. They clinched a playoff berth last night with a 19 to 1 thumping of Surrey. Brandon Graham gave up one hit over three innings while the offense scored seven times in the first and seven times in the third. They will have to wait for results from games at 10 and 1 to determine whether they'll play in a tiebreaker at 4:30 or if they'll go directly into a semi final tomorrow morning at 9.
In Chilliwack, the bantam squad split their two games yesterday, defeating Abbotsford 7 - 6 before falling 11 - 6 to Aldergrove. They are 2 and 1 in their tournament.
While in Rutland, the mosquito club is 2 and 0 after a 6 - 2 win over Cloverdale and a 5 - 3 victory over Kelowna.
Meantime the Senior Grays open the Men's Provincial Championship today in Trail.
